Abu Dhabi Airports to install automated documentation authentication scanners

Travel News 01 Jun 2015

Abu Dhabi Airports has invested in an automated document authentication system to further enhance security and expedite processing times at the entrance to the security checkpoint. The scanners will be able to read traditional, mobile and home-printed boarding passes.

Upon scanning their boarding pass, the data is automatically validated and the information is then displayed to a security agent on a graphical user interface.

There will also be four security lanes with automatic gates, four mobile/paper boarding pass scanners and four hand-held wireless boarding pass scanners. Roll out will start in Terminal 3 economy, followed by the Terminal 3 business area, and will then be implemented in both economy and business areas in Terminal 1.
